A Message About 2025

This year has been one of much struggle but also of much growth.  We were tested and refined in the fire of trials but have come out stronger for the experience.  Perhaps you can relate.  Around this time, we usually will hear pithy sayings about the coming new year such as “We will have more in 2024” or “We will thrive in 2025”.  However, the Holy Spirit has been speaking to us over the last month and has said that the time for such things is past.

The Holy Spirit has said that 2024 was a “Year of Fear”.

Will I have enough money to feed my family?

What if the election doesn’t turn out like it should?

What if today is the day I can no longer walk?

What if the economy gets worse?

The Holy Spirit has said, according to Isaiah 43:18-19, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.  See, I am doing a new thing!  Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?”

As a mother forgets the pain of birth when she holds her newborn, forget the pain you have gone through in the last year, but remember the lessons you learned.

The Holy Spirit says 2025 will be a year of enlightenment and victory.  What was in the dark will be exposed in the light.  The seeds of the devil are discord, fear, strife and lies.  In the next year, the eyes of believers will be opened to the tricks of the enemy.  They will be enlightened about things in the Word that have been hard to understand until now.  The Holy Spirit says, “I will give them eyes to see and a heart to understand.”

Jeremiah 24:7, “I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the Lord.  They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me with all their heart.”

So, as we prepare to close out 2024 let us take to heart the words of Paul to the church in Corinth, “Therefore we do not lose heart.  Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.  For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.  So, we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal” 2 Cor 4:16-18.

Though we have endured much pain in 2024 we know it was for our edification and maturity.  And we know that God has promised, “Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you” Heb 13:5.  Jeremiah tells us, “For He does not willingly bring affliction or grief to anyone” Lam 3:33.

So let us walk into the coming year expecting victory in the Holy Spirit and blessings of wisdom and enlightenment.  Everyone is looking for prosperity, but Proverbs tells us, “How much better to get wisdom than gold, to get insight rather than silver” 16:16.
